It's a huge clash in the race to finish in the top four and there should be goals at the Emirates.
Liverpool v Arsenal – Saturday 17:30, BT Sport 1
Liverpool put in a lackluster display at the King Power, conceding three times against a Leicester side that had failed to score in six prior to the match. It means Jurgen Klopp’s men have played 12 games across all competitions this calendar year, winning just twice and losing five of their last seven against the likes of Swansea, Wolves and Hull. At home in the league however, Liverpool have only lost once since January 2016, winning two-thirds of their games at Anfield this term.
Arsenal aren’t enjoying the greatest run themselves, losing three of their last five across all competitions as well as three of their last five away in the league. These three away defeats came at top-seven sides Everton, Man City and Chelsea, and there is a significant difference between Wenger and Klopp’s record against top-six teams. Arsenal have only won one of their last nine such matches (W1-D4-L4), whilst Liverpool have only suffered defeat once in their 10 such home games under Klopp, winning four and drawing five.
Matches between these two sides have been hugely entertaining in recent seasons, with five of the last six league encounters yielding a minimum of four goals. Given Liverpool have kept just one clean sheet in seven whilst conceding 12, and Arsenal have leaked at least two goals in four of their last five on the road as well as in seven of their last eight trips to top-six sides, we think Over 3.5 Goals at 3.0 represents excellent value.
