Watford look a good bet to take three points from their Vicarage Road clash with Southampton.
Watford v Southampton – Saturday 15:00
Watford drew for third time in six games at home to West Ham last time out, and they’ve only lost once during this run in a tough trip to Old Trafford. They did also achieve victory against Arsenal at the Emirates in this spell, and seem to have recovered somewhat from a dip where they’d lost four out of five.
Southampton were unfortunate to lose against Man Utd in the League Cup final but the result does mean they’ve lost four of their last five across all competitions, including defeat at Swansea and a 5-0 drubbing at home to Arsenal. They do however appear to have found a solution up front, with Manolo Gabbiadini making an explosive start to life on the south coast by netting five goals in his first three games for the club.
The Hornets have been fairly consistent at home, only losing two of their previous 11 matches there with one of these against Spurs. Furthermore, their record this season against the current bottom half is a decent W4-D6-L2 including W3-D3-L0 at home. So with Southampton having conceded eight times in the four matches the injured Virgil van Dijk has mussed this season we fancy Watford to pick up all three points.
