West Brom are a tough nut to crack at the Hawthorns and another three points await on Saturday.
West Brom v Crystal Palace – Saturday 15:00
West Brom beat Bournemouth at home in their last match to leave them five games unbeaten and so remain comfortably nestled in 8th, four points behind Everton and seven ahead of 9th placed West Ham. At home, the Baggies are on a roll with seven wins from their last eight, the exception a defeat to Man Utd, and they’ve shown good scoring form by netting 18 times during this sequence.
Crystal Palace secured a vital 1-0 win in their home clash with Middlesbrough, drawing the Eagles level on points with their opponents in that game and leaving them on the verge of escaping the relegation zone. However, they’ve lost two-thirds of their games under Sam Allardyce and the win over Boro was only their third at Selhurst Park this season. On the road, Palace have won just once in 10 games, losing three of their last four and failing to score in any of these defeats.
West Brom have been remarkably consistent against teams currently below them in the table, only losing once in 18 games this season (back in September), whilst winning seven of their last nine against such opposition. We’re backing the Baggies to come out on top here, but with the Eagles failing to score in six of their last nine as well as in each of their last five defeats, we think the value lies in a West Brom to win to nil.
