Stoke now have the Premier League's worst defence. They travel to Vicarage Road this Saturday.
Watford v Stoke - Saturday 15:00
Watford were unable to hold on to their lead at Stamford Bridge as they eventually went down 4-2 after conceding two late goals, but they’ve nonetheless made a very impressive start to the season. They beat Arsenal in their last game at Vicarage Road and they come up against a Stoke side that’s trailed at both half-time and full-time in four of their last five matches, the latest of which was at home to struggling Bournemouth. This means they now have the worst defence in the division, and we’re backing Watford to pick up another three points.
If we exclude top-five opposition, the Hornets are W8-D6-L2 at home since the start of last season and we’d have them odds-on here. Stoke have picked up just one point from their four road games and have now lost 13 of 23 on their travels since the start of last term. They’ve trailed at the break in nine of their last 10 away defeats and indeed their last seven losses at all venues, and with that in mind we’re backing Watford/Watford Half Time/Full Time.
20 year old Brazilian Richarlison’s been one of the standout performers in Watford’s impressive start and we’re going to take a chance on him being the last scorer. His pace and trickery should cause plenty of problems against this Stoke defence that shipped seven against City and isn’t the most mobile, particularly with Martins Indi out injured. All three of Richarlison’s goals for Watford have come after 70 minutes, with two in the last minute, and so we’re backing him to make a weary Stoke defence pay.
