A tricky one to call at St Marys.
Southampton v Crystal Palace, Tuesday 19:45
Southampton have won just three times at home all season, with two of those coming over sides below Palace in the table, whilst they’ve kept just one clean sheet in their last 10 at St. Mary’s and so we couldn’t be backing them at odds-on, particularly with top scorer Charlie Austin ruled out. Palace are unbeaten in four away games and only the Manchester clubs have beaten them by more than one goal on the road this season so they look great value on the Double Chance.
The Eagles have gone into the break goalless in five of their last six on the road whilst Saints have failed to score in the opening-45 in six of their last nine on their own turf so we’re going to take a chance on the 0-0 half time Score in what we expect to be a cagey affair.
Indeed, a low-scoring encounter will certainly bring the draw into play and that’s the option we like most in the match outcome markets. Saints have drawn two of their last three at home, whilst Palace have drawn three of their last four away. Southampton have scored exactly once in their last three at St Mary’s and so the 1-1 correct score looks worth a punt.
