Football expert Ryan Elliott has two tips for Bournemouth's tough trip to Wolves.
I must say, I was very impressed with Wolves on their return to action last Saturday. It didn’t take them long to rediscover their rhythm, and in the end they were far too good for a pretty poor West Ham side, winding up 2-0 winners.
Speaking of poor sides, Bournemouth’s performance against Crystal Palace, which ended 2-0 to the Eagles, was also a serious cause for concern. Eddie Howe suddenly looks like a fish out of water, and if they don’t start picking up points very quickly, they’re going to be staring relegation in the face before they know it.
There’s only one way I see this going, and it’s a comfortable home win.
The Cherries concede far too many goals, but only 29 goals scored all season is a bigger worry from Howe’s point of view, particularly considering Wolves have only conceded 34 times in their 30 games.
Nuno’s men have bags of quality all over the pitch, but they’re also blessed with some serious depth, as shown when Pedro Neto and Adama Traore came on against West Ham to do the damage late on.
Bournemouth are rudderless as things stand, and are looking every inch the relegation candidates they’ve become.
At 7/4, I believe there’s plenty of value in Wolves to win with a -1 handicap.
It’s clear that the aforementioned Traore is a serious threat off the bench.
He didn’t start against West Ham, and only started one of the last four league games before the division was suspended – to great effect.
As a result, I believe there’s great value in backing Traore to score last at 17/2.
No defender, playing their second game in four days following a long lay-off, wants to see Traore coming on for a 20 minute blitz, as evidenced by the damage he caused to the Hammers.
Even if Traore starts this longshot is far from dead, but this may be a bet to place once the team sheets are released!
