Man City & BTTS

Despite their defeat to Liverpool in their most recent outing, Brighton can take a lot of positives out of the performance.

After gifting Liverpool two goals in the opening 10 minutes, Albion responded brilliantly, and were the better side right up until Mo Salah’s late header eventually killed them off. Graham Potter will be hoping for a similar performance in their next assignment against Man City – minus the early gifts.

As for the visitors, they put their Southampton defeat behind them by registering a heavy win over Newcastle, and Pep Guardiola will want to end this season on a high, giving his side momentum ahead of next month’s Champions League finale.

Looking at some of the prices on offer in the various markets, Man City to win and both teams to score at 9/4 looks a price.

This is exactly what I tipped for City v Newcastle last time out, and while that one didn’t land, a similar line of thinking has to be used here.

City have lost their last three away games, and have only kept a clean sheet in three of their last 12 league games on the road. Furthermore, Brighton showed they’re more than capable of mixing it with the best, and if they play like they did against Liverpool, I have no doubt they’ll carve out goalscoring opportunities.

With this in mind, 9/4 does look a little on the generous side.
