Can Burnley continue their excellent form against the champions? Football expert Ryan Elliott has one tip for their trip to Anfield.
Burnley (+2 Handicap)
Despite winning their last two games against Aston Villa and Brighton, Liverpool were far from convincing in both.
Villa nullified them for large parts of the game, looking threatening on the break but eventually succumbing after missing some great chances, while against Brighton, after being gifted two goals in the opening seven minutes, Liverpool were outplayed (and out-xG’d), once again coming away with a pretty fortune three points.
They now prepare to face a Burnley side who are bang in form, having earned 10 points from their last four matches, and for this season I’m looking at the handicap market, where Burnley (+2 handicap) stands out.
Considering how Brighton and Villa had long periods of relative success against Liverpool, this Burnley side, doing what they do best, have the ability to frustrate Liverpool for long periods of time.
Sean Dyche’s men have conceded just one in their last four games, while Klopp, as he’s done over the last two games, will likely rotate his side once again, which is certainly something that’ll play into Burnley’s hands.
In their last 12 games, the Clarets have lost just once, and the momentum they’ve built up will serve then well against a Liverpool side who have flattered to deceive in the last couple of games.
Avoiding a defeat by more than a single goal, at this price, looks worth backing.
