Southampton

It’s the point of no return for Bournemouth. They’ve been abysmal for pretty much the whole of the Premier League season, but a win against Leicester, followed by a battling but ultimately fruitless trip to the Etihad, has at least given Eddie Howe’s men some semblance of hope.

They face a Southampton side who, despite making wholesale changes for their most recent game against Brighton, still performed very well, missing out on all three points only due to a goal line block from Lewis Dunk and a blinder of a save from Maty Ryan; their level of performance was still very good.

Furthermore, it’s away from home where Southampton really excel. While at home only Norwich have fewer points, on the road it’s only Chelsea, Man City and Liverpool who sport a higher points tally, and that’s a record not to be sniffed at.

If we’re being realistic, Bournemouth simply must win, and while recent performances do suggest they have a chance, 19/10 for a Saints victory away from home looks very generous indeed.

The likes of Jack Stephens, Ryan Bertrand, Kyle Walker-Peters and Stuart Armstrong should return to the starting XI with an added freshness, and if they perform against Bournemouth like they did at Old Trafford during their 2-2 draw, they’ll win.

The Cherries, who will be forced to take chances later in the game if they aren’t winning, could play into Southampton’s hands here, and if we’re looking at this from a price perspective, 19/10 for the visitors, who are stronger in every department with a very good away record, is a steal.
