Chelsea vs Wolves is an absolutely fascinating game. The hosts need just a point to secure a top four finish, while Wolves will need to win to make sure of a 6th place finish; there’s so much on the line, and with Leicester and Manchester United facing-off elsewhere, we should be in for a cracking afternoon.
This game also brings us a clash of styles. Chelsea have seen over two goals scored in 10 of their last 11 league games, while Wolves have seen two goals or under in eight of their last nine. With Chelsea needing only a point, you’d imagine they’ll try and keep things tight (although with their defensive record that’s never a given), but the shoe is on the other foot for the visitors – they need to win!
It’s been tough unpicking exactly where the value lies in this game, but 9/4 looks to be a solid price for both teams to score in the second-half.
Chelsea have conceded 61% of their goals in the second half this season, while a whopping 73% of Wolves’ goals have come in the second half, which is a very high percentage.
Add to this the fact that the 46-60 minute period is Chelsea’s most prosperous passage of the game as far as scoring goals is concerned, and suddenly 9/4 looks quite a nifty price.
