Wolves vs Man City provided us with two brilliant games last season, culminating in Nuno’s men registering an incredible double over Pep Guardiola’s star-studded side.

Pep will know that he can’t afford many similar slip-ups this season considering how good Liverpool are likely to be, although the Wolves performance at Sheffield United—where they won 2-0 in fairly simple fashion—shows this’ll still be a serious challenge for City.

Last season wasn’t a flash in the pan for Wolves, either. The two sides drew 1-1 at Molineux during the 18/19 season, while the one Premier League win Man City have recorded over Wolves since their return was aided by a 19th minute Willy Boly red card.

Tipping is always a little trickier at the start of a season; will Manchester City hit the ground running? Chelsea and Liverpool were hardly convincing in their openers, although Arsenal were fantastic in theirs (albeit against Fulham).

Looking at where the value and formbook points, backing Wolves to win or draw at 13/8 looks a reasonable play. Wolves and City both lost nine games last season, showing just what a tough side to beat the Black Country outfit are.

City might take a short (and I mean very short) while to get going, but Wolves, after their excellent win at Bramall Lane, will fancy another result against the former-champions.
