I must say, Aston Villa have been pretty impressive in their opening two games, and are well worth their six points.
Of course, they’ve ‘only’ beaten 10-man Sheffield United and newly-promoted Fulham, but they’ve still done so in pretty emphatic fashion, and it’s their defence, reinforced by Emi Martinez in goal, which has been noticeably strong.
Liverpool have done what they do and also won all of their matches thus far, and I’m backing them to squeeze past Aston Villa – with under 3.5 goals in the match.
Villa will trust their defence to try and take this game as deep as possible without falling too far behind, and this could result in a pretty frustrating afternoon for Liverpool.
Both of the league games between these two last season were very, very competitive, with Liverpool perhaps a little fortunate to take six points from them, so while the champions are my pick, adding in the under 3.5 element provides us with some pretty tasty value.
