Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur

Can Mourinho come away with a win against his old club?

  • Manchester United have won 6 of their last 7 home matches against Tottenham in all competitions.
  • Man Utd are undefeated in 15 of their last 16 matches in the Premier League.
  • Spurs won just 4 away games last season.
  • Spurs have kept just 2 clean sheets in their last 27 premier league games

TIP: Manchester United to win

Arguably the game of the weekend comes at Old Trafford as Jose Mourinho makes a return to his old stomping ground, Old Trafford, as Spurs manager. Mou always loves a moan but I can sympathise with him when it comes to the hectic fixture schedule they’ve had of late, they’ve played three times since the weekend and played a pretty strong side on Thursday against Maccabi Haifa.

Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes should be fit to play meaning Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a near enough fit squad for this one whilst Heung Min-Son is a doubt which would be a huge blow for the visitors. New signing Carlos Vinicius will not be able to play until after the international break either.

Spurs also have a wretched away record, winning just 4/19 last season and conceding in 25 of their last 27 trips and although United haven’t had the ideal start to the season I think they’ll be fresher and smell blood against this Spurs side. Mourinho has a poor record against former clubs as well, that could continue here and quotes of even-money on the hosts look backable.
