Tottenham vs Liverpool Team News
Tottenham are missing several key players through injury. Bissouma, Kulusevski, Maddison, Solanke, and Udogie are all sidelined. Manager Thomas Frank is likely to make changes following the poor display at Nottingham Forest, with Palhinha and Bergvall expected to come into the midfield. Mathys Tel and Wilson Odobert are pushing Kolo Muani for a spot on the left.
Liverpool also have injury concerns, with Gakpo, Bajcetic, Leoni and Frimpong ruled out. Gomez is expected to be available despite hobbling off against Brighton. Szoboszlai is a doubt with an ankle problem. Salah is at AFCON and Gakpo misses out with a muscle problem.

Tottenham vs Liverpool Match Prediction
Tottenham have struggled for consistency this season, and their home form has been underwhelming, reflected in their 17th place ranking in the home standings. Liverpool, while not at their best, have shown glimpses of their former selves. Liverpool will score as a result of individual skill. Liverpool will dominate in the air. With Tottenham missing several key players and Liverpool possessing the attacking quality to exploit their weaknesses, a narrow away win looks the most likely outcome.
Prediction: Tottenham 1-2 Liverpool

Tottenham Hotspur host Liverpool in what will likely be the most-watched game of the weekend, with both clubs under pressure to deliver results. Spurs arrive at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium still searching for consistency; a big 3-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest has intensified scrutiny on manager Thomas Frank and highlighted Tottenham’s defensive vulnerabilities heading into the Christmas period. They created just 0.3 xG from five shots. Spurs have picked up just one league win in their last seven matches, leaving them mid-table.
Liverpool have rediscovered some momentum after a recent unbeaten run (5 in all comps) and will fancy their chances of controlling the game despite no Salah due to AFCON. But their defence has still been poor during that time, and teams have been able to easily evade their press.
Van de Ven to commit over 0.5 fouls
Van de Ven has landed a foul in five of his last 6 starts, with half of those games having more than one foul. If we look into a larger sample size, we can see he has had more than one foul in 40% of his last 20 league starts, but is still priced at roughly 3.75, which is higher odds than the hit rate implies. The Spurs centre back has also been booked six times this season, showing he’s willing to go into challenges.
Spurs vs Liverpool should be a high intensity and demanding fixture for Tottenham defensively, and I think that will only increase his foul counts. In tougher recent matches against PSG and Arsenal, Van de Ven committed seven fouls across the two games (three vs PSG, four vs Arsenal), and whilst Liverpool have looked poor defensively, they have still looked good in attack, which should only add more pressure on Van de Ven.
Konaté to commit over 0.5 fouls
I’m also targeting Konaté to commit a foul here. He has made at least one foul in all of his last 10 appearances and is likely to be closely matched with Richarlison. The Brazilian is excellent at drawing contact, averaging 1.85 fouls won per 90 minutes, winning at least one foul in 19 of his last 20 games and two or more in half of those.
Milos Kerkez to make over 1.5 tackles
Kerkez is averaging 2.28 tackles per 90 this season and has made 17 tackles in his last four starts, with his tackle numbers clearly trending upward recently. He’ll likely see a lot of defensive responsibility in this game, especially with Tottenham’s attacking shape. Left-backs against Spurs are averaging around 2.4 tackles per game, a figure that Kerkez is already matching. Against Kudus, who is very direct, I think Kerkez is put into many positions where he has to make tackles.
