Jake O'Brien is averaging 1.8 tackles per 90 minutes in the league this season, but his recent defensive involvement for Everton has increased significantly. Across his last six Premier League appearances he has recorded tackle counts of 3, 6, 2, 3, 1 and 4, clearing this line in four of those matches.

He also landed this selection earlier in the season when facing Arsenal back in December and this matchup once again presents strong tackling opportunities. Arsenal’s wide attackers, including the direct running of Gabriel Martinelli, consistently force defenders into challenges and defensive duels. Opposition right backs are averaging 2.3 tackles per game against Arsenal in the league this season, which further highlights the potential for O’Brien to be heavily involved defensively down that flank.

Given his recent tackling numbers and the nature of Arsenal’s attacking approach, another busy outing for the Everton defender looks likely.

2nd Selection: Arsenal Double Chance

Since their 3–2 home defeat to Manchester United, Arsenal have responded superbly by putting together a 12 match unbeaten run, strengthening their position at the top of the Premier League table.

The Gunners also hold the second best home record in the league, having suffered just one defeat at the Emirates Stadium all season. While Everton have shown encouraging form recently, their record in North London remains poor. The Toffees have failed to win in their last five visits to the Emirates, losing four of those matches, and were also beaten by Arsenal earlier in the campaign.

Everton are typically well organised defensively, but with the title race intensifying and momentum firmly behind them, Mikel Arteta’s side should have the quality and motivation required to at least avoid defeat, and very likely secure all three points.
