Elliot Anderson has developed into one of the most reliable foul-committers in this Scotland side, averaging 1.77 fouls committed per 90 minutes across his last 23 appearances for club and country. Remarkably, he has committed at least one foul in 22 of those 23 matches, highlighting just how regularly he gets involved in the physical side of the game.
The energetic midfielder thrives on pressing opponents and making tackles in central areas, but his aggressive approach often leads to mistimed challenges. He demonstrated that in Scotland's opening World Cup match against Croatia, where he committed three fouls, and he also recorded three fouls in England's final pre-tournament friendly appearance.
With Ghana expected to sit deep, remain compact, and look to spring forward on the counter-attack, Anderson could find himself in situations where he is forced to halt transitions or make recovery challenges. The motivation should be high heading into this fixture. Having watched fellow superstars Kylian Mbappé, Lionel Messi and Erling Haaland all score braces in this round and strengthen their positions in the Golden Boot race, Kane will be eager to respond and keep pace with his rivals.
His recent underlying numbers are equally impressive, with 16 shots across his last three appearances for England. Against a Ghana side likely to spend long periods defending, Kane should see plenty of opportunities to test the goalkeeper, making 4+ shots a very achievable target.
