World Wide Technology Championship First Round Leader Tips

Ludvig Aberg

Still in college less than six months ago, Aberg has slowly started creeping into the mainstay picture in professional golf finishing T15 or better in six straight events. That doesn’t include his stellar performance at the Ryder Cup, propelling Team Europe to a runaway win against the Americans. 

Having won the DP World Tour Omega European Masters a couple of months ago, Aberg has shown he has the ability to start fast and finish strong. In a field such as this with a weaker-than-average field, I expect Aberg to get off to a fast start, with a good chance to be atop the leaderboard come the end of round one. 

Askshay Bhatia 

With three top-25 finishes in his last seven events, Bhatia has quietly turned into one of the best young players on the Tour. He also has performed well at courses that are classified as “Resort-Style”, as he strong finishes in events in the Bahamas and Puerto Rico. 

Add in his length off the tee which isn’t the most accurate, something that won’t burn him here, and I think there’s some value at a hot start from Bhatia at +4500.

Beau Hossler 

With five top 20s dating back to July, Hossler has also quietly been playing some stellar golf, including top 10s in his past two events. In fact, if it were not for a 70 on Sunday at the ZOZO, Hossler could have very well walked away with his first PGA Tour victory. 

Long off the tee, this is a course that fits Hossler well, and with just one missed cut since July, Hossler should start fast and be in the mix out of the gates.
