US Open Round 4

Outright selections in this event are well and truly down the pan in what has been a volatile US Open for scoring.

The best in the world haven't fired but one can not deny that those at the top of the leaderboard absolutely deserve to be there and have played the best golf.

Luck hasn't gotten them to the top, nor will it have played a huge part in whoever wins it. Solid greens in regulation has translated to good scores and that will more than likely be the deciding factor this evening.

US Open Final Round Tips

Xander Schauffele Final Round Lowest Score at 22/1 (WIN)

We have landed a couple of winners in the lowest final round score market on Sundays in Majors in recent years and we'll attempt it again to try and recoup the outright losses. First up is Xander Schauffele who gets the nod at 22/1.

Ranking 19th in greens in regulation Xander Schauffele really ought to have scored better to now. He hasn't done a whole pile wrong and only once has strayed to anything bigger than a bogey. The bogeys have been frequent enough to put him out of contention here though but he can be dangerous from this position.

Remember, Schauffele's worst finish in eight US Opens is 14th place. He currently sits 35th and will need to go low today to continue a fine run in Majors where 28th has been his worst position after four rounds in the last 13 tries.

He ranks 1st in the field for final round scoring in the Majors in the last three years and looks a solid bet to land this market.

Collin Morikawa Final Round Lowest Score at 22/1 (WIN)

Collin Morikawa surely has to be dangerous today given how good his long game has been and I'll gamble on the putter heating up with a shade slower greens this morning and nothing much on the line heading into the final round.

Lying 67th in the field on the greens of those who made the cut doesn't read well but his stroke may just be that much freer today now he's out of contention.

He ranks 5th for the week in strokes gained tee to green and his total of 8 over par will be hugely disappointing to him. 6th in greens in regulation also just spells how much of a hard time he has had with the putter. It'll be too little too late should he oblige but he looks an obvious bet in this market today.

Matt Fitzpatrick Final Round Lowest Score at 40/1 (5 Places)

2022 US Open Champion Matt Fitzpatrick has now made it ten made cuts from eleven in this event. That is a phenomenal record on traditionally the toughest setups of the year and today he can show the talent he has for these types of test.

Again, he hasn't been at his best recently but there have been positive signs of late, especially with some distance coming back to his driver. He was 8th at the PGA and so far what has let him down this week has been his iron play.

He hasn't been great around the greens either and his action probably doesn't lend itself to the high rough challenge around these surfaces. Nevertheless, he ranks 2nd for the week on the greens and 20th in accuracy from the tee, so any improvement in the iron play could see him shoot a low one in round four to continue this mini recovery in his career.
