BMW International

The BMW International will be held at Golfclub Munchen Eichenreid, Munich, Germany.

There have been many ways to skin this cat down the years but a solid ball striking game to hit plenty of greens in regulation looks the key to success.

There isn't a whole pile of room off the tee and although scores will be low here they'll need to be made from the cut and prepared and those struggling with the driver will find it difficult to get into the conversation here.

There is little doubt a hot putter helps around this venue with 16 of the 29 top 5 and ties here down the last four years ranking in top 15 in putting for the week.

Combine that with a solid tee to green game and you've got the perfect recipe to score around track.

Below is a look at the stats of the top performers from the last four editions of this tournament.

BMW International Tips

Patrick Reed at 12/1 (WIN)

Nothing can stop me going all in on Patrick Reed this week at anything of 10/1 or better. I'm really surprised he is this big. As I mentioned LIV players' records in DPWT events can not be underestimated and Reed now arrives off the back of a hard fought victory in Dallas and right in the conversation for a Ryder Cup spot.

Captain America looks the perfect fit for Keegan Bradley side and he simply has to enter the equation now with this Ryder Cup promising to be the most raucous renewal in a long time.

Bahrain in February was the last time he teed it up in a very similar field to this and he was a general 11/1 shot.

Puig was 14/1 and in much better form than what he currently is now. Reed meanwhile has finished 7th at LIV Miami, 3rd in the Masters, 4th in LIV Korea and now last week a winner at LIV Dallas.

This spells to me that Puig should at least be double the price of what Reed is and that the American should be strong, strong jolly here.

Reed can't afford to take his foot off the gas in the next month and surely this represents a huge chance to put a marker down for Keegan Bradley.

Rasmus Neergaard Peteresen at 18/1 (WIN)

Jayden Schaper looks capable of going well once again but 30/1 or so tempers enthusiasm a little after him being a similar price last week but has two or three extra LIV stars to take on here.

He is certainly hitting the ball well enough to get into the conversation though and we'll reluctantly leave him off simply because of the price.

The defending champion Ewen Ferguson is another interesting one at the price if he can overcome a somewhat average week with the irons in Italy.

I'm keen to go with a top heavy approach in this event though that usually rewards the best players and having been really keen on Rasmus Neergaard Peteresen a few months back in the Hainan Classic I'm happy to go in once again at a slightly bigger price.

He was fighting for the jolly tag that week with Haotong Li who is ten points bigger than him this week and that is largely down to the US Open.

Neergaard-Petersen finished 12th there at Oakmont in only his second Major appearance and that could be a sign of things to come.

The talent is there for all to see and it's a matter of time before he breaks through. He was 2nd here at the halfway stage in his only outing to date at this course and finished up the week in 7th place.

A few weeks on from that magnificent effort at the US Open he should be absolutely buzzing for the rest of this season and surely has a great chance of opening his account here.

Martin Kaymer at 150/1 (Six Places)

One that can not be overlooked at the prices is Martin Kaymer. Another dropping down in grade there have been decent signs of late for the German and has to be bet at 150/1.

He led LIV Golf Virginia after day one three weeks ago, was second after round 2 and eventually finished 8th. Last week in Dallas he finished with a final round of 69 to finish 18th and a repeat of these efforts could easily see him in the mix this week at Eichenreid.

Kaymer was a 200/1 shot last week at LIV Dallas, an event that included Rahm, Dechambeau, Niemann and Hatton among many others.

There's simply no way he should be this big and although I'm not overly confident of a good showing he just has to be included at this price.

Jocob Skov Olesen at 125/1 (Six Places)

Last week the rough was a proper challenge which was very welcome when it comes to this tour and hopefully we should see much of the same this week at Eichenreid.

It has always been a challenge should you stray from the cut and prepared and for that reason I'm happy to play Jocob Skov Olesen at nice odds this week.

This lad is capable of bigger things and although this is a tough task given the strength of the field I'm more inclined to back him at these sorts of prices.

The Dane ranked 2nd in strokes gained off the tee last week in Italy which is a really good sign given it has been the part of his game struggling of late.

He will need to putt a lot better to contend here over the weekend but long game is important around here and he could put his best foot forward.
