Sanderson Farms Championship 2025

The Country Club of Jackson , Mississippi. Jackson CC has hosted this event for a number of years now and can be a track where you can narrow down your search for a winner more easily than other weeks. A 7400+ yards par 72 awaits the field this week and demands a fair bit of length off the tee.

Accuracy doesn't matter as much despite some plodder types doing well here down the years. The rough isn't an issue but strokes gained approach certainly has been a stat to look towards for those wishing to contend this week.

The best ball strikers have dominated around here. Hughes made most of his ground in 2022 on approach play and around the greens having been not so good off the tee, but generally speaking it's the ball strikers that contend.

Runner up Straka was 8th OTT and 10th on approach. In 2021 Burns was 1st OTT and 2nd on approach. Garcia won in 2020 by ranking 1st OTT and 3rd on approach.

This is certainly the way forward around Jackson and thereafter it's about holing enough putts to contend on Sunday evening.

Min Woo Lee at 22/1 (Six Places)

Min Woo Lee has been more active than most of this field this month and that could prove a deciding factor over the weekend.

The Aussie went to Wentworth and then to France where on both occasions he played extremely well and got into contention on both Sundays. With approach play being a key element to success this week Jackson I wouldn't normally be a keen advocate of Min Woo Lee given that iron play in general is his weakness.

His week with the irons in France though was his best in that department since his victory earlier in the year in Texas and any repeat of that level should see him go really close here.

Buckets of birdies are on offer here and Min Woo has been playing with more esteemed company than this in recent weeks being in the final group with Brooks Koepka a couple of weeks ago in France.

This is a higher level than that but looks like it's a great opportunity for him to add a second victory of the season.

Rico Hoey at 33/1 (Eight Places)

Poor putters have often gone well here and Luke List and Sergio Garcia being two recent winners here back that up.

Greens are easier to hit than usual here and the greens are amongst the toughest on tour to gain strokes on the field on.

Last year's winner Kevin Yu has always had struggles with the putter and once again he added his list to a long list of players with profiles like that.

One in a similar mould who is hard to turn down here is Rico Hoey. Hoey was 9th last time out at the Procore once again playing extremely well off the tee and on approach then struggling on the greens.

Nevertheless there was improvement in that department in California and we can expect even further improvement on these greens at Jackson.

Hoey hits the ball remarkably long and straight and has been waiting for a venue such as this on which the field find it tougher to gain strokes on him with the putter.

This should narrow the gap significantly and there is nobody in the field hitting the ball better than him. I'd have him closer to second fav in this event.

Byeong Hun An at 60/1 (Six Places)

It was around this time last year that Byeong Hun An won the Genesis Championship in Korea but he has been a model of inconsistency since.

Various fine results have followed including top tens at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and the Canadian Open, whilst a top 25 at the Masters was certainly no slouch.

The Summer has been a dismal spell though with a number of missed cuts but the recent made cut at the Procore, a much stronger field, can be considered a positive. He performed reasonably well off the tee that week and whilst he has gotten longer off the tee in recent years his accuracy certainly has not improved.

He can get away with that this week though with no rough to speak of and any improvement with his iron play could see him fare much better than usual.

This is a much weakened affair compared to the last month or so and his class could tell if he manages to get into contention over the weekend on a course on which he has already managed a top 3 finish.

Joseph Bramlett at 100/1 (Six Places)

Joseph Bramlett ranks towards the top of birdie or better percentages in the field and with plenty of chances here it makes sense to consider him.

Bramlett is another who struggles with the putter long term and Jackson gives him the chance to bridge that gap between himself and the field.

He is consistently long off the tee and has gained plenty on his competitors in that department over the last few months.

His iron play at times has struggled but it's worth noting at the Procore a few weeks ago he ranked 5th in the field in that department in a much stronger affair.

Any repeat of that will give him plenty of chances to score on these easier greens.
