The trap draw can often have a massive say in the outcome of the race, and I firmly believe that’s the case for DEADLY EXPERT (best price 11-8). The youngster’s only had three competitive runs around the Sheffield circuit but has made a good impression so far. With the five box being empty, and the four dogs looking more towards the inside, Deadly Expert should get a solo around the outside. With strong opening sectionals and the best overall time of the bunch, this one must have a great chance.

This race will be decided at the first bend – the three dogs in traps two, three, and four all pacing up, but all moving towards the rail and likely tangling with one another. This gives SHARPYS GOLD (best price 33-1), who has got in a fair bit of bother himself of late, a great opportunity to steer clear of the trouble around the outside and pick up the pieces. At the price, I think the outside of the field is a cracking small stakes each-way bet at 33/1.
