Paul Millward has one tip so far for today's Greyhounds.
Betting opportunities look a little thin on the ground today but one greyhound that could be worth siding with is the lightly raced GLINN (best price 5-2). He had some fairly decent form in Ireland towards the backend of last year and has taken no time at all in making his mark at Kinsley with an all the way win on only his second outing.
That came a few days before the lockdown and his comeback trials would suggest he has come on a few lengths since then and he has every chance strictly on the clock alone. As importantly, he has a prime draw in trap one with a slower starter going from the two box and the rest of the field seeded middle or wide.
Therefore, a solo on the inside looks very much on the cards and it is just a case of hoping that he gets his timing bang on at trap rise. Coming away as well as he has been though, he can be expected to make the bend with his nose in front and could build a winning lead down the far side.
This looks a fairly competitive race but it may pay to side with IN THE LOOP (best price 11-4) at the early prices offered. Although far from a prolific winner, she has picked up her share along the way and looks to have been graded on her comeback trial form rather than overall performances. That must be in her favour.
Prior to the break, she was running well in open class races and in higher grade events than this and this does represent a serious ease in class. Fitness will have to be taken on trust all the same, but the fact that she has a cracking chance of leading is enough to make her of serious interest in any case.
