Michael Smyth has three greyhound tips for Friday’s card at Romford.
All eyes on Romford this evening for an ultra-competitive 12-race card featuring the Coral Essex Vase first round heats at the London Road venue.
You can watch the action live on the At The Races greyhound channel, Sky Sports Racing red button or via bookmaker streaming services.
Ante post betting is available with all major firms, the Mark Wallis trained superstar New Destiny heads the market at a standout 3/1 with Betway, Aayamza Sydney is next in at 7/1 with track sponsors Coral.
The first heat of the Coral Essex Vase at 8.19 can go to FABULOUS SONIQUE who lines up from T3 for trainer Mark Wallis. The July 21 daughter of Magical Bale is a class act over this six-bend 575 metre trip at Romford, if she gets it right at the boxes, she will prove hard to beat this evening.
The break and run into the corner is key to this race, with Lively Lauren in T4 its imperative that Sonique traps well and holds that rival early on, lead off the second bend and Sonique can kick for home. Best price available is 11/10.
At 8.36 it’s all eyes on 2024 Bet365 Challenge Cup, Premier Greyhound Champion Stakes and Coronation Cup winner New Destiny in T4 against Gary The Arb in T3. The break will prove vital in this race, neither can afford a tardy exit especially with pacey four-bend performer Antigua Bingo making her six-bend debut this evening out in T6.
A little later on one that should go well is lightly raced middle seed Scammer who runs from T5 in the third heat of the 2025 Coral Essex Vase at 8.54.
The October 22 son of Malachi caught the eye at Towcester recently recording 29.42 from off the pace staying on well to the drop, he then moved well in a 575-metre trial over this course and distance clocking 34.92 and with further improvement likely that could make him one to follow in the competition. Scammer is a general 12/1 shot to take the competition outright.

In the sixth and final heat at 9.46 I’m with the Maxine Locke trained DROOPYS EUNICE from T2. The consistent railer lacks a recent competitive run but over the last couple of weeks she's recorded a flying 23.95 four-bend trial and an impressive 35.04 six-bend trial, if she gets it right at the boxes this evening and grabs the rails she will kick for home off the second bend and prove hard to peg back. Bubbly Athena warrants respect from T1 as does Newinn Cloud in T5.
A little earlier on one that should prove hard to beat is Central Park raider SWIFT UBIQUITY (T3) in the Coral Silver Maiden open race at 7.11 over the standard four-bend trip of 400-metres at the London Road venue Romford.
The Daniel Brabbon trained middle seed is blessed with blistering early pace and if brings his trapping boots this evening, he will be a couple clear at the corner and half a dozen clear by the third bend. The 7/4 on offer with Coral looks solid value and is worth snapping up.
7.11 Romford – Swift Ubiquity (T3) 1pt @ 7/4
