Michael Dods’ inmate fared best of those drawn high in a competitive handicap at Redcar.
WHAT COULD SHE BE (best price 7/2)
faired best of those that were drawn high in a competitive handicap at Redcar last time out and she looks destined to go well back at a track she’s shown a liking for in the past. On a day where the low numbers dominated proceedings on the straight track at the Yorkshire venue, anything that ran well against the bias was worth upgrading and Michael Dods’ inmate was one of the biggest eye-catchers, finishing fourth from stall 14 in a 16-strong field. Having finished runner-up on her two previous visits to today’s venue, she clearly goes well on the fibresand and with the favourite, Nosey Barker, unproven on the surface and third best, Boolass looking exposed, the daughter of Dark Angel rates a rattling good bet at 7/2.

MIDNIGHT SILVER (best price 7/2)
turned in a decent effort on her first start over hurdles in an above-average contest at Towcester and although she has a bit to find with Happy Diva, today’s prevailing conditions might allow her to turn around the tables on Kerry Lee’s charge. The speed figure of that strong-run mares’ race at the Northamptonshire venue suggests the first half dozen home are all worth following, but being as Jamie Snowden’s charge is proven on heavy ground (dual bumper winner under such conditions) and is likely to prove more at home racing left-handed, those factors just tip the balance in the direction of the Midnight Legend mare.

COMMISSAR (best price 7/1)
ran with plenty of encouragement for new connections over today’s C&D last time and he should be capable of another bold display if repeating the same level of form against similar opponents. Although he narrowly failed to get the better of track specialist Yul Finegold that afternoon, the pair pulled well clear of the rest and as the time of the race also pin-pointed the level of achievement by the front two, there’s no reason why Heather Dalton’s charge shouldn’t be involved in the finish again.
