KEMSING (NAP)(best price 11/10) has clearly taken well to racing on a fibresand surface and Julia Feilden’s inmate gets the confident vote to follow up his smooth C&D victory 26 days ago. Looking like he’d just jumped into the race at the two furlong pole that day, the Footstepsinthesand gelding readily pulled clear of plenty of well-fancied rivals and even off a revised mark of 62, he still looks as though he may have a few pounds up his sleeve.

YES TOM(best price 5/2) can once again prove that track form is king as he bids to post win number five at the Scottish venue in this tricky little handicap chase. Although getting a little long in the fang, Stuart Crawford’s charge proved there’s plenty of life in the old dog yet when running out a comfortable winner of a handicap hurdle over today’s course last time out and as that success came off the back of two previous races where the 11-year-old was pulled-up, it just goes to prove what an effect the return to a horse’s favourite track can have on the performance levels. Winner of this race last year and with most of his best displays coming just after the turn of the New Year, the son of Tikkanen has plenty in his favour on his repeat bid.
