Five each way punts this Wednesday from our racing expert.

KYLLACHY DRAGON (best price 7-1) shaped with plenty of promise on his debut at Thirsk and with just normal improvement he might turn out to be a shade more competitive second time around. Outpaced slightly at the Yorkshire venue as the field swung along at decent early fractions, Iain Jardine’s inmate picked up nicely once the penny began to drop inside the last two furlongs and hitting the line quite hard back in a never-nearer sixth, he finished on the coat tails of several useful and more experience sorts. Based on that performance, the son of Dragon Pulse should be more at home over today’s stiffer five furlongs and hailing from a yard ticking along quite nicely at present, he makes plenty of each-way appeal at his morning quotes.

KRYPTOS (NAP) (best price 13-2) won with miles more in hand than the official margin suggested at Chester last time out and this progressive type still looks on a favourable mark based on that performance. Held up towards the rear off sound fractions on the Roodee, John Berry’s inmate proceeded to run into a wall of horses dropping back in his lap rounding the home turn, but to his eternal credit, he somehow managed to turn certain defeat into victory with an amazing burst of speed late on. Prior to that scintillating handicap debut, the son of Cacique had shaped really encouragingly in a hot maiden at Newmarket behind two progressive types and despite being up against several highly-regarded three-year-olds here this afternoon, he has enough qualities of his own to be considered a serious threat to all.

The official ratings suggest BILLESDON BESS (best price 11-1) has plenty to find with many of today’s rivals, but as is often the case at this time of year, fillies can improve at a rapid rate of knots and Richard Hannon’s charge could well turn out to be another classic case for that theory. Working her way through the handicap ranks, the culmination of her efforts in recent times were polarised by her ultra-game victory at Goodwood last time, and with the runner-up that day, Titi Makfi, going on to boost the form at Newmarket over the weekend, there’s no reason to question the strength of the form. Moreover, the strapping daughter of Dick Turpin has loads of proven track for to call on – as figures of 15212 testifies – and given that she also goes particularly well for today’s pilot Hollie Doyle, there’s more than a fair chance the duo can team up again to good effect from the front.

MY DIRECTION (best price 12-1) hasn’t really set the world alight on his last few starts, but there’s a decent chance he may return to something like his best returning to the scene of some of his best performances. Unplaced on his last two starts under both codes, Ellmarie Holden’s gelding is probably better judged on some of his more prominent efforts earlier in the season when there was a bit of dig in the ground, such as his runner-up spot to Dragon Fei in a competitive handicap at the Curragh. Add on top of that his fine record at today’s venue of 1213, the picture of his chances become a little clearer, and any further rain would also aid his cause.

LOMI’S LAW (best price 11-1) had to be considered a slightly unlucky loser over today’s C&D last time out and she’s afforded another chance to make amends on her return visit to the Co Kilkenny track. Noted travelling well just in behind the speed approaching the two pole, the Lawman mare unfortunately saw very little daylight from that point on and she had to sit and suffer and take her medicine. On her previous start at the same track, however, Andrew McNamara’s inmate had a much more pleasurable experience as she ran out a comfortable winner of a similar handicap, and with the runner-up that day, Queluz, going on to advertise the form twice over subsequently, everything looks set fair for another bold display on ground that will suit.
