Musselburgh 3.15

Saturday’s Value Bet runs in the Edinburgh National at Musselburgh. MISSED APPROACH is just too well handicapped to ignore. He finished a closing second on his only try over this distance at the Cheltenham Festival and is now 7lb lower tackling this trip again. He ran better than the bare result when sixth in the Ladbroke at Newbury in November and again ran with credit when third in a Grade 3 at Warwick last time. Connections are contemplating running him in this years Grand National and he will need to impress here to take his chance. He has always appealed as a staying type and this sort of test should be right up his street. It’s no surprise to see him figure prominently in the betting and anything around the 6/1 mark should be snapped up. Warren Greatrex is hitting form at the right time too and had a winner for these owners at Chepstow yesterday in the shape of Rock My Syle. They will be hoping for a similar fate this afternoon.
