Orange Blossom was highly tried on occasions last season and showed her appreciation for a simpler assignment on her comeback by filling the runner-up berth at Kempton. She was a position ahead of Brigadier on that occasion but, given it was Robert Cowell's gelding's first taste of competitive action, he could improve past her. Even so, they may be playing for minor money because there was a good word for PHYSICS prior to his Kempton debut and he only gave way late on so the drop from 6f should do the trick.
Prediction : 1st Physics 2nd Brigadier 3rd Orange Blossom

BUBBELAH couldn't justify a short price when trying a handicap for the first time on his return to action, but the winner has gone in again subsequently and the third has also run well since to frank the form. Pandora Star has chased home the same filly twice at Southwell, and Pentland Lad caught the eye when staying on into third over Chelmsford's 5f, but the biggest threat could come in the shape of Remembering You now that she steps out of maiden/novice company on an attractive mark.
Prediction : 1st Bubbelah 2nd Remembering You 3rd Pentland Lad

Simba Samba made light of his initial handicap figure by running away with a Newcastle prize on Friday night and Charlie McBride is wise to get him out again before the assessor takes revenge. This comes soon enough, though, so the vote goes to RED PHOENIX, who improved for a gelding operation to justify favouritism at Lingfield and he should be up to defying a 5lb rise. Rajman finally got on the scoresheet at the same course and won't be far away either.
Prediction : 1st Red Phoenix 2nd Simba Samba 3rd Rajman

VEGATINA left a modest start to her career well behind her when finding only one too strong over 1m here. She stuck to her task admirably but dropping back a furlong won't inconvenience her and she is taken to make it third-time lucky. Lethal Lover is the other filly in the line-up with two races under her belt, although her debut effort was better than her latest fifth at Lingfield. Canasta and a Marco Botti trio spearheaded by Wolverhampton fourth Di Matteo merit respect, but the pick of the newcomers is the Archie Watson-trained Whisper Aloud.
Prediction : 1st Vegatina 2nd Whisper Aloud 3rd Lethal Lover

Portledge arrives at the top of his game and took his form to a new level when successful on his latest start at Newcastle. Glenn Coco has also won two of his last three, but perhaps CALL ME GRUMPY will derive the necessary improvement from his recent Wolverhampton spin. That was just his second appearance in 17 months but his second-placing went some way to justifying Roger Varian's perseverance in him, and it will have blown away any cobwebs. Corazon Espinado returns from a break and is another to consider, as is Areen Heart.
Prediction : 1st Call Me Grumpy 2nd Portledge 3rd Glenn Coco

ELYSEES PALACE has been costly to follow since returning with a Newcastle win at the beginning of the year, although he hasn't been far away at all on any of his three subsequent outings and the application of a visor could help eke out further improvement. Galitello banished a Lingfield disappointment to the memory when upped to this trip at the same venue but a bigger threat could come from Houlton, who ran right the way to the line when just touched off on his first crack at 2m here.
Prediction : 1st Elysees Palace 2nd Houlton 3rd Galitello

HARRY CALLAHAN gained just reward for a couple of sound performances in defeat by breaking his duck with a determined display at Chelmsford. He drops back slightly in distance but is open to plenty more improvement and should be able to make the most of another good opportunity. Cottingham showed a bit more sparkle when third at Wolverhampton and could appreciate going a mile and a half for the first time. Greenview Paradise was out of her depth behind Cheltenham fancy Epatante when last seen, but Jeremy Scott lowers his sights as he starts her off back on the level.
Prediction : 1st Harry Callahan 2nd Cottingham 3rd Greenview Paradise

FIRST CALL seemed progressive towards the back end of 2018 and put a blip over an inadequate 7f at Wolverhampton behind him when hitting the crossbar at Chelmsford just over a week ago. He just seemed to lack a change of gear at the business end so the rise from 1m2f will help him and he is preferred to Dolphin Village, who struck at the Dunstall Park circuit prior to a decent run in defeat at Chelmsford. Sigrid Nansen is worth a second glance now that she drops out of handicap company.
Prediction : 1st First Call 2nd Dolphin Village 3rd Sigrid Nansen
