The extra distance could also suit Templier, who was far from disgraced at Huntingdon and represents a local yard that does well here, while a sliding mark brings Champion Chase into calculations.

Recent C&D winner Little Boy Boru is also noted, but he is an 11-year-old and far from sure to replicate his form of last time now up in grade.

SECRET DOOR looks to be on a workable mark of 115 and the eight-year-old is fancied to strike back on a more forgiving terrain after finishing third at Sandown when last seen 93 days ago. Shantung was third to a smart Nicky Henderson-trained mare at Warwick in January and could make her presence felt, while Ruby Yeats was second here last time and should appreciate the drop from 3m1f.

Belmont Park brings the best last-time-out form to the table but that was 466 days ago, while Leith Hill Legasi wasn't beaten all that far at Exeter and she has winning C&D form to her name.
