HOLDBACKTHERIVER bounced backed to form when winning over fences at Bangor last time out and he should take plenty of beating off what could be a lenient hurdles mark. Solstice Star is already a three-time winner this season and he has to be given the utmost respect, while Nearly Perfect and Diger Daudaie also warrant consideration in an open contest.
Prediction : 1st Holdbacktheriver 2nd Solstice Star 3rd Diger Daudaie

DE RASHER COUNTER arguably arrives on the back of two career-best efforts, with the first being a defeat of subsequent Kempton winner Walt at Newbury. Last time out, he chased home a useful rival in a novice chase at Chepstow and Captain Cattistock was back in third on that occasion. The latter is 6lb worse off at these weights, having won at Exeter subsequently, and that sways the vote in favour of Emma Lavelle's gelding. The shortlist is completed by the in-form Lough Derg Farmer and Eureu Du Boulay.
Prediction : 1st De Rasher Counter 2nd Captain Cattistock 3rd Lough Derg Farmer

ACEY MILAN was a high-class bumper performer last season and he left two costly defeats over hurdles behind him when winning at Plumpton. He does need to improve to defy an opening mark of 127 but he is likely to have more to offer now back up in trip. Theo's Charm wasn't beaten far in a C&D race that has worked out well and he should not be underestimated. Dr Sanderson has a similar profile to the selection and merits a place on the shortlist, along with Bold Plan and Magoo.
Prediction : 1st Acey Milan 2nd Theos Charm 3rd Dr Sanderson

Ms Parfois returns from a break having disappointed in the Ladbrokes Trophy on her sole outing this season. However, she had excuses for that effort with the yard under a cloud, and this stamina test is sure to suit. Ballydine lost his winning chance in Haydock's Peter Marsh when making a bad mistake at the third-last, but stayed on well for third and has long threatened to relish an assignment of this nature. Preference, though, is for FOLSOM BLUE as his latest hurdling run when fourth at Sandown was an eyecatching effort over a trip too short and his fourth in the Irish National, where he was unlucky, gives him strong credentials.
Prediction : 1st Folsom Blue 2nd Ms Parfois 3rd Ballydine

HIDEAWAY VIC finished third in a Ffos Las novice hurdle that has worked out extremely well, with the first two both proving to be smart individuals, and he is entitled to improve on what he showed on that occasion. Back On The Lash got up in the dying strides to win on his second timber outing at Ludlow and is likely to improve for the step up in trip, while The Captains Inn is best of the remainder on the evidence of his Leicester victory.
Prediction : 1st Hideaway Vic 2nd Back On The Lash 3rd The Captains Inn

The lightly-raced CUDDLES MCGRAW enjoyed the soft underfoot conditions when getting off the mark at Warwick last time and makes plenty of appeal once again despite the 8lb rise, with the going in his favour and plenty of more progression to come. The veteran Bob Ford was second over this track and trip in January and is respected, while Cougar's Gold and Sartorial Elegance are others who can get involved.
Prediction : 1st Cuddles Mcgraw 2nd Bob Ford 3rd Cougars Gold

TIGERALLEY is of real interest reverting to hurdles having fallen last time at Wincanton when still travelling well. She was in good form before that, making the podium at both Taunton and Fontwell, and could be improved by the application of cheekpieces. Astra Via has some decent form in maiden hurdles and rates as the main danger, while Plumpton winner Hope's Wishes will be suited by the soft ground.
Prediction : 1st Tigeralley 2nd Astra Via 3rd Hopes Wishes

Jackson Hill is the most experienced of these and Warren Greatrex's five-year-old is interesting having undergone a wind operation since running at Plumpton in December, a race in which Moroder was a remote silver medalist. However, he may have to settle for second behind THE COB, who wasn't beaten far when runner-up on debut and the winner on that occasion was deemed good enough to take part in the Champion Bumper earlier in the week.
Prediction : 1st The Cob 2nd Jackson Hill 3rd Moroder
