The David Pipe-trained Remastered also merits consideration but MORNING VICAR gets the nod. The six-year-old has looked smart since day one - winning a bumper at this venue - and, still fairly green in his races, there looks to be a lot more to come from the last-time-out Ludlow scorer.

A chance is taken on VALHALLA, who has fallen to a mark 5lb lower than when last successful and he certainly wasn't disgraced behind the smart Not Another Muddle at Sandown five weeks ago, form which was done no harm when that winner went on to finish fifth in the Grand Annual at the Cheltenham Festival. Voie Dans Voie finished runner-up off this mark at Taunton and is likely to give another good account, while Graceful Legend and Valadom are other respected players.

AVANTGARDIST defied double-figure odds when scoring at Warwick and a 7lb penalty might not be enough to anchor him if arriving in the same mood. Three Star General is just 2lb higher than when hitting the crossbar at Plumpton and he can show up well again. Reallyradical, third behind subsequent Triumph Hurdle winner Pentland Hills last time, and Notachance, who has performed well off this mark the last twice, add further spice to the contest.

Goodnitesweetheart won gamely at Taunton and would be a popular winner under Noel Fehily, who bows out after a successful riding career on Saturday, but EVA'S OSKAR looks like the one they all have to beat. He only found one too good on his handicap debut at Newbury and stepping up half a mile could unlock another gear. Poperinghe Ginger and the returning Ossie's Dancer are others to note.

KINGS WALK was second to a very well handicapped winner here three weeks ago, and could make amends for Colin Tizzard in a competitive handicap. The eight-year-old may benefit from a more patient ride this time and looks poised to add another win to his CV before the end of the season. Larry wasn't suited by fast ground at Leicester when last seen and is given another chance, while Wilde Blue Yonder and Red Rising are others to take seriously.

NUBE NEGRA looked a threat before being brought down at Taunton last month two from home, and could claim compensation here for the in-form Dan Skelton operation. The drying ground won't deter this five-year-old and he can prove too strong for William H Bonney, who should find this much easier after struggling in the Betfair Hurdle at Ascot when last seen. Prince Charmin' has had a wind operation since he was last sighted and needs a market check.

IMPERIAL ALCAZAR impressed when second in a Listed bumper at Ascot just before Christmas and looks poised to give that form another boost. The third from that contest was a respectable fifth in the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham last week, while the winner is held in high regard by the David Pipe team. Corrany was third on debut at Fontwell and might already need further, while Nobby has done it well in this sphere the last twice. Green Dolphin and Eason could also hit the frame.

This looks like a nice opening for MASTER BAKER, who won easily in this sphere at Taunton last time and has some very strong point-to-point form in the book. The 10-year-old can prove too strong for Southfield Vic, who was beaten 35 lengths by the classy Shantou Flyer at Fontwell four weeks ago. Forgotten Gold didn't run his race at Doncaster last month, but may have come on for that first outing since October 2017, while Village Vic has a point to prove.
