UK Horse Racing Tips: Wolverhampton

FRENCH TWIST has plenty of experience and could be the one to side with here racing off a 2lb lower mark than when a creditable fourth at Kempton on her return from a 69-day break in January. Arguably her best performance to date came over C&D in October last year and she gets the nod ahead of Cheap Jack, who doesn't look badly handicapped on his Newcastle form. Maid Millie and Es Que Magic should also be considered.

GANTIER bumped into a nice type here last month and, on breeding, should improve for the step up to this distance. The son of Frankel has improved for the fitting of blinkers the last twice and, if this extra yardage unlocks another gear, he could have too much class for the likes of Caplin, who won well over track and trip recently, and Paradise Boy, who should run his usual honest race and is still open to further improvement.

A select but competitive heat in which slight preference is for AMERICAN ENDEAVOUR, who is 2-2 at the track following her ready C&D triumph last month. Marco Botti's charge rarely runs badly and there is something about Dunstall Park which brings out the best in her. Stable companion Yusra isn't without a squeak on the pick of her recent form and Indiscretion is entitled to have improved for her latest Lingfield third. Lady Alavesa is another to take seriously.

Areen Heart has had plenty of chances in similar races of late but just doesn't win often enough and is perhaps worth taking on with EL HOMBRE, who has won and placed in three C&D starts and is used to keeping better company. At the other end of the handicap, Sandridge Lad got back to winning ways at Southwell a fortnight ago and is a player, while Punjab Mail is interesting debuting for the shrewd Ian Williams and making his seasonal/handicap debut.

USTATH brings the best form to the table, earning a rating of 77 with three promising efforts as a juvenile, and he could get his three-year-old campaign off to a flyer. Serengeti Song is rated just 1lb lower than the selection on official figures and warrants plenty of respect making his first appearance since being gelded, while Mawakib and Sarasota Bay are other names to note.

UBLA certainly showed no signs of stopping over the extended 1m here on Monday and he might be able to follow up under a 6lb penalty. Lady Of Authority, equipped with first-time cheekpieces, was only beaten narrowly in a similar C&D event last time and she is likely to be in the shake-up again, while Sea Shack, False Id and Final Attack add further spice to the race.
