UK Horse Racing Tips: Chelmsford City

Yimkin improved for the step up to a mile when scoring at Kempton last month and Roger Charlton's Kingman filly is of interest once again here. However, preference is for Godolphin's DIAMOND OASIS, who won well at Lingfield in December and could easily build on that now up in trip with a hood applied and Oisin Murphy in the saddle. Newcomer Wareeda is another to note.

It was perhaps one too many times to the well with LION HEARTED, whose five-race winning run came to an end at Southwell last time, but Mick Appleby's five-year-old has some emphatic wins in the book and is the one to beat if a short rest has freshened him up. Arabian Jazz was a winner at Sandown when last seen and is interesting on her reappearance, while C&D winner Samphire Coast is often at his best here.

C&D winner EXECUTIVE FORCE has been in sparkling form of late and attempts to land his seventh win in eight since the turn of the year. He is now 26lb higher than when starting his winning run but continues to improve and the return to 1m2f can see him go in again here. Wolverhampton winner Swiss Storm is respected following his reappearance victory, while Secret Art has performed well over track and trip the last twice.

Arlecchino's Arc made most over C&D last time and hasn't been hit hard with a 2lb rise in the ratings for that success, though he may need to break well if he's to repeat those tactics from stall 11. Narrow preference is for SHARP OPERATOR, who has dropped 1lb lower than when striking at Wolverhampton in January and could appreciate the return to this trip after being outpaced over shorter at Wolverhampton. Blyton Lass is no forlorn hope for a place.

Drakefell dictated from the front when holding on well to score over this trip at Lingfield last week (with Captain Lars back in third) and should give it his best shot under a penalty. Anthony Brittain's charge is drawn in stall 11, however, so it might be worth taking him on for win purposes. His consistent stablemate Another Angel is expected to show up well, but having dropped 3lb lower than when winning over C&D in a higher grade in August, DYNAMO WALT is preferred.

TOP ROCK TALULA has been an unlucky loser at Lingfield and Wolverhampton the last twice, meeting trouble on the inside rail at Dunstall Park most recently. She's been beaten by a neck on both of those occasions and, 2lb well in here, she may be able to gain deserved compensation. Apex Predator ran well over 1m4f at Wolverhampton and has place claims up in trip, likewise recent Kempton fourth Banta Bay, who drops back from 2m.
