THREE C'S lost little in defeat when beaten by under a length into third over 7f at Chelmsford last time out and is expected to go well off an unchanged rating - he's only 1lb higher than when striking over C&D in November. Clement has dropped to a dangerous mark and shaped encouragingly on his first run for Marjorie Fife when second at Chelmsford nine days ago. A big run from the eased-in-grade Helfire could also be on the cards.

REWAAYAT failed to tear up any trees in two outings last term but a mark of 64 appears workable for Charlie Hills' four-year-old, who could feasibly take closer order now handicapping. Javelin has been raised 3lb for finishing a nose second over this trip at Kempton and has strong place possibilities, while Garth Rockett could go well on debut for Mike Murphy now reunited with Cieren Fallon, under whom he struck over C&D off 2lb lower in November.

SHANGHAI GRACE arrives on a four-timer and a C&D hat-trick and, with his talented 7lb claimer maintaining his association in the saddle, it is difficult to see Charlie Hills' progressive three-year-old finishing out of the frame. Magical Wish has picked up the silver medal over sprint trips the last twice and could feasibly take a hand now upped in distance, though a bigger threat may be Winter Light if her rider repeats the front-running tactics that worked well for her at Chelmsford on her last start in October.

WIFF WAFF was tapped for toe when fifth over 5f at Wolverhampton last time and is a likely improver now returned to this longer trip. This drop in grade also entitles Stuart Williams' four-year-old to turn in an improved display. Lucky Lodge rarely runs a bad race on the all-weather and is unlikely to be far away at the finish, while Steelriver could be keeping on well late in the day and must also enter calculations.

VELVET MORN struck at the third time of asking in a novice heat over this distance at Kempton last time and is expected to show up well under Frankie Dettori off an opening mark of 70 now going handicapping. Sussudio was touched off by a head over track and trip last time and could feasibly figure from this 4lb higher perch, while Vino Rosso was consistent for Charlie Hills last term and is worth monitoring in the betting now debuting for a new stable on her seasonal bow.

APACHE BLAZE put in some creditable performances on the all-weather but stepped forward again for the switch to turf, finding only one too strong in a big-field handicap at the Lincoln meeting. The cheekpieces that worked so well at Doncaster are retained and can help her account for Jamaican Jill, who returned to form to just go under at Chelmsford. The Jean Genie is another last-start runner-up, although her maiden status is troubling, and Margie's Choice's credentials are perhaps more solid.

SO HIGH would have learned plenty from a couple of all-weather spins towards the end of 2018, and he almost managed to get his head in front on the second of those at Chelmsford. John Gosden's Nathaniel colt is still in the Derby so the rise from a mile and switch to grass should see him in a positive light. Autumn Pride chased home a smart Gosden prospect at Lingfield, but Revamp caught the eye staying on into fourth on his Wolverhampton bow and is preferred for forecast purposes.
