SO LONELY struggled in a Grade 2 novice hurdle at Newbury last time out but her previous form suggests that she should be capable of winning a race of this nature. Conchita won a bumper at Wetherby back in December and she could give the selection plenty to think about if taking to hurdles. Others to consider are See The Sea and Potters Away.

SAUMUR has displayed plenty of promise in both of her previous hurdles starts, including when filling fourth place behind the useful Emitom on her debut, and she appears to be the one to beat. Jane Lamb has some decent bumper form to her name but the 471-day layoff has to be a concern. With that in mind, the main danger to the selection looks to be The Crafty Touch, who won twice between the flags in Ireland last year.

COOLE WELL has hit the crossbar in both starts since winning at Plumpton back in December but this appears to be an ideal opportunity for the six-year-old to get back to winning ways. Skandiburg was not disgraced in the EBF Final last time out and he also merits a place on the shortlist, along with Espion De Saflo and Chez Hans.

PADDY'S POEM confirmed his suitability to these conditions when striking over track and trip two starts ago and wasn't disgraced off his current mark when runner-up at Stratford last time. Zalvados is generally consistent and should find this assignment easier than the Grade 3 handicap he contested at Newbury last time, while Cracking Destiny could appreciate this drop in trip and also take a hand.

LUCKY LOVER BOY gets the verdict. Oliver Greenall's four-year-old gained compensation for his near miss in a C&D maiden hurdle when landing a novices' contest at Newcastle and appears feasibly weighted now sent handicapping. Dr Richard Kimble is another handicap debutant to note but the main danger appears to be Third Estate, who placed over track and trip two starts ago after winning at Uttoxeter and should appreciate coming back to 2m.

PIQUE ROCK has finished behind some decent yardstick in recent months, including Night Of Sin, Midnight Glory and Wishfull Dreaming, and could claim a first win since October here for Henry Daly. A mark of 119 doesn't look beyond the seven-year-old and she can win this given an aggressive ride by Andrew Tinkler. Barton Rose wasn't at her best during the autumn but could have benefitted from a 138-day break, while Pembroke House and Vocaliser both have a bit to find.

VAXALCO (second) accounted for Arthur's Reuben (third) here in January and is fancied to confirm that form for Neil King following a break. The 10-year-old remains lightly raced for his age and should be fine on the ground. Fight Commander drops in class but isn't straightforward, while The Jugopolist returned to form with a cosy win here last month but isn't sure to follow that up at the age of 12.

KEEN ON is out of a bumper winner, while two of his relatives also scored in this format, and Nicky Henderson's charge is fancied to land the spoils on his racecourse debut. Namib Dancer took a step forward from his debut when third here last month and could go well again, while Overflow is related to winners in France and represents a stable that can ready one in this sphere.
