Birkenhead built on his opening sixth-placed effort in the Brocklesby to hit the crossbar at Lingfield on the all-weather a few days later and is right at the top of the shortlist along with Bettys Hope, who is another who has experience having finished second at Kempton on debut. However, Richard Fahey won both divisions of this in 2017, including one with a debutant, and THE GINGER BULLET may be well worth taking a chance on.Prediction : 1st The Ginger Bullet 2nd Birkenhead 3rd Bettys Hope

GIN GEMBRE caught the eye when travelling nicely for a long way on debut at Windsor nine days ago and the stiffer finish he will encounter here could help Karl Burke's Dandy Man colt play a big part second time up. Lili Wen Fach is the only other runner in the field with experience and is respected, while Michael Dods' Troubador and Puerto Sol, saddled by the winning handler of this in 2016, Brian Ellison, appear the pick of the newcomers. Prediction : 1st Gin Gembre 2nd Lili Wen Fach 3rd Puerto Sol

BOUTONNIERE is an unexposed quantity and can build on his recent Lingfield victory. He got off the mark in a likeable fashion on that occasion, having progressed nicely run by run, and it will be interesting to see how his ability transfers to turf for a handler who has started the season well. Fraser Island's performances last season were creditable and the consistent performer is respected at a track his trainer often does well at, while Gabrial The One, who was a good winner at Pontefract in October, arrives here running off a 6lb higher mark and is another to note.Prediction : 1st Boutonniere 2nd Fraser Island 3rd Gabrial The One

OLOROSO returned in winning fashion at Kempton over this distance last month and, having comfortably won on his handicap debut that day, there could be more to come off an 8lb higher mark. City Tour is another who made a pleasing return to the track when winning at Musselburgh earlier this month, while Axe Axelrod is in need of a market check on his first outing for Michael Dods. Prediction : 1st Oloroso 2nd City Tour 3rd Axe Axelrod
16:35 Beverley
Airshow showed some decent form last season for Rod Millman and has joined a trainer known for his exploits with new recruits in the shape of Mick Appleby. Rapid Applause was far from disgraced in deeper races last season but might find this ground too lively, so this can go the way of WENTWORTH FALLS. He performed well on seasonal reappearance last year and seems ideally suited by a firm surface. Line Of Reason likes it here and is also noted.Prediction : 1st Wentworth Falls 2nd Airshow 3rd Rapid Applause
17:10 Beverley
FLOWER POWER's winning run was ended at Catterick back in October, but that ground looked soft enough for the eight-year-old and she can bounce back on this more forgiving terrain. A C&D scorer, the drop in trip isn't a huge worry and Tony Coyle's charge can prove too good for Bit Of A Quirke, who caught the eye on his return at Pontefract eight days ago when third. Just Wait didn't enjoy the Southwell Fibresand earlier this month and should appreciate the return to grass under Joe Fanning.Prediction : 1st Flower Power 2nd Bit Of A Quirke 3rd Just Wait
17:40 Beverley
KINGDOM BRUNEL showed decent promise in three outings last season, finishing second on his last couple of outings at Newcastle, and a gelding operation along with wind surgery could unlock further improvement from the son of Mastercraftsman. Blindingly has shaped with encouragement despite racing keenly on both his starts to date, while Katinka is an interesting recruit from France for Archie Watson and the drop in trip looks in her favour.Prediction : 1st Kingdom Brunel 2nd Blindingly 3rd Katinka
18:10 Beverley
ELIXSOFT has been in good form over the past couple of months and returned to turf in great nick when second at Leicester earlier in the month. A 3lb rise looks fair and Roger Fell's filly could benefit from first-time cheekpieces. Ideal Candy won here over further last July and has to be respected on her first run of the season, while Gainsay has returned in good heart with a win at Lingfield backed up by a placed effort at Windsor.Prediction : 1st Elixsoft 2nd Ideal Candy 3rd Gainsay
