He gets the handy weight-for-age allowance and has the potential for further improvement against more exposed rivals. The Great Wall will benefit from the drop in distance and the addition of a first-time visor, while Captain Lars completes the shortlist.

That success last time was her first on turf at the seventh attempt and she can defy this career-high mark trying 2m for the first time. Navajo Star was second to her last time and is respected, while Rashdan is also noted for a Newmarket-based trainer with a good record here.

He appeals off the same mark for the Mick Appleby team, with Wolverhampton third Mondain also on the shortlist.
