Dual Flat winner LETHAL STEPS is rated 124 on official figures and sets a clear form standard on his recent placed efforts at Ballinrobe and Fairyhouse. Cobaltic rattled the crossbar on his first start under Rules at Wexford last month and is entitled to improve with the benefit of that experience now behind him. The pick of the remainder may be Pacific Fleet, who debuts over hurdles but has gained experience on the Flat.

NO WAY JACK turned in an improved performance when second on his handicap debut over 2m at Fairyhouse three weeks ago and can be expected to step up on that effort now granted a stiffer test. Perfect Leader attracted support when sent to Wetherby for a spin over fences last month and, although he failed to justify favouritism, he's entitled to better that effort off this reduced hurdles perch. Recent Carlisle third Oskar High completes the shortlist.

GIPSY LEE ROSE opened her account under Rules when landing a 2m3f maiden hurdle at Limerick earlier in the month and is expected to remain competitive on these terms as she bids to notch a quick double. Cooldine Bog struck over this trip at Cork in November and could improve for the drop in distance, having failed to stay 3m at Clonmel when last sighted. Stay Humble could also feasibly take a hand.

SOLDIER AT WAR has been off the track since disappointing in a bumper at Fairyhouse in December, but his run before that on debut offered encouragement and he also got closest to Malone Road in a point-to-point back in March 2018. He could make a pleasing start to life over hurdles and can see off Future Monarch, who makes a quick reappearance having finished down the field at Limerick on debut. Hotel Du Nord has plenty of hurdles experience and the pick of his form would give him a chance, while Our Dark Horse wasn't beaten far at Cork recently.

GLOBAL RACING didn't look suited by soft ground on an unconventional track 43 days ago but could bounce back here on a drying surface. Gavin Cromwell's charge looks fairly treated off a mark of 95 back over timber and this contest might not take too much winning. Bomber Jackson was down the field on the Flat in October but could do better now tackling hurdles again, while Ballymadun was an emphatic scorer at Down Royal last month but has an 8lb rise to contend with.

TORQUAY bounced out to make all at Limerick 17 days ago and a similarly aggressive ride would make her tough to stop off 7lb higher. The six-year-old thrives on a sound surface and might just claim successive victories despite now taking on slightly better opposition. Simple Steps is probably a better chaser than hurdler and has a bit to prove back over the smaller obstacles, while Cappuccino Man tries a visor for the first time and could do better.
