White Turf and course-and-distance winner Marengo are others who could get involved.

Nottingham second Wedding Blue looks the pick of Andrew Balding's trio, while Baasem shaped with plenty of promise when fourth on his final start of 2018 and could be suited by this step up in distance. Coeur Blimey won this contest last season and Flying Tiger, another who has gained valuable experience over hurdles, can't be dismissed as he bids to follow suit. However, the vote goes to MANORAH, who pulled out plenty at the finish to get off the mark at Kempton in November and could have more to give now upped in trip for a yard in good order.

POET'S MAGIC was beaten by less than a length when third on her handicap debut at Windsor and could easily build on that effort off a 1lb higher mark. Shifting Gold was fifth behind the selection in that aforementioned contest and is respected now reopposing on 3lb better terms, while Laxmi could figure if building on her recent all-weather third. Elegant Love needs to leave behind her last run at Kempton in December but makes some appeal on her two preceding runner-up efforts.

LETHAL LOVER arguably posted her best effort yet when beaten by two lengths into fourth in a 7f novice contest at Kempton in March. Clive Cox's charge is expected to build on that effort now going handicapping with an opening mark of 66. Plumette won a Leicester seller recently and debuts for a new stable, though a bigger danger may be Knightshayes, who should find this assignment more realistic than her last one when competing off unfavourable terms at Leicester in October.

EYE OF THE WATER lost little in defeat when beaten by under a length into second over 7f at Kempton last month and is expected to appreciate the return to 6f, over which he struck at Wolverhampton in February. Halle's Harbour is rated 5lb higher than when striking on the all-weather at Kempton in January but has viable place claims nevertheless, while any money for Clive Cox's handicap debutant Dark Poet would be noteworthy.

JUSTICE LADY's last couple of performances suggest that the six-year-old is returning to form after a disappointing spell last summer. She was not beaten far, despite not having the clearest of runs, last time out at Newcastle and she should have no problem switching back to turf. Major Valentine has an obvious chance based on his 6f win here in August, as well as his success at Nottingham two weeks ago, while others to consider are the course specialist Quantum Dot and Union Rose.
