EMBLAZONED made giant strides in a short space of time last season, going from a novice success at Yarmouth to place in Group 2 company over C&D 10 days later, and John Gosden's colt has significant potential to improve on just his sixth career outing. The son of Invincible Spirit went on to finish third in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot and the Newmarket handler is capable of readying one off an absence. Vintage Brut has proven his liking for cut in the ground, with a Listed success at York on soft ground being his best juvenile performance, and he warrants respect along with Laugh A Minute, who shaped as though the return to 6f would suit at Leicester last month.

The step up to 7f should help Arbalet based on the best of his 2018 form, but he wouldn't have wanted this week's rainfall and that is a concern for his supporters. Newbury Listed winner Mankib won't mind the conditions and represents a trainer with a superb record here, but preference is for Andrew Balding's HAPPY POWER. A winner on soft at Newbury last month, the three-year-old receives an age allowance against older horses and looks like the one to side with given that his handler has already mentioned races such as the Group 3 Jersey Stakes if all goes to plan with him this season.

HUNTSMAN SON can be forgiven his effort at Cheltenham behind A Plus Tard when finding the ground far too soft for his liking. The handicapper dropped him 1lb for that effort and, back on a sounder surface, Alex Hales' gelding could take some stopping. Wilde Blue Yonder travelled well but didn't quite see out the extended 2m7f at Newbury in March and is respected off the same mark, while the hat-trick seeking Copper West completes the shortlist.

NORTHERN BEAU has been in terrific form in 2019 and only went up 2lb for her most recent success at Cheltenham. The step up in distance is no concern for Michael Scudamore's mare, having won over 2m4f at Leicester at the end of February, and she can prove too strong for Western Miller, second at Stratford on his latest start, and Gardefort, who was no match for a well-handicapped rival at Perth 16 days ago.
