The nine-year-old was also second in this event in 2017 and may have had this as his target again for quite some time. Kinloch Pride is now on her last winning mark, while Spirit Power is worth noting now dropping in class.

Dandy Highwayman has won two of his last four at Newcastle, while Slieve Donard put in a career best when fourth at Musselburgh recently.

EMIRATES KNIGHT returns to turf and could get off the mark at the fifth time of asking for Roger Varian. The three-year-old is officially rated 89 and would prove tough to stop if running at anywhere near that level under Daniel Tudhope. Trinity Lake scored at the first time of asking at Wetherby a fortnight ago and is bred to relish the extra yardage, while Alexander James could also hit the frame.

AROGO makes a fair amount of appeal on handicap debut for Kevin Ryan having had wind surgery since his final juvenile outing and a gelding operation. The drop to 6f also looks a positive to his chances. Gylo's best performance came last year when fourth over this distance at Newcastle and he can take a step forward on his two outings this season, while Across The Sea and Look Out Louis complete the shortlist.

NATIVE FIGHTER finished fourth to a handicap blot at Doncaster last Saturday and Jedd O'Keeffe's gelding appears capable of taking a step forward for the application of a visor and with Dylan Hogan taking 5lb off in the plate. Apterix returned to winning ways at Musselburgh at the start of the month and is respected off a 2lb higher mark, while Bill Cody won twice over 1m6f at Redcar last August and could have more to offer on his return.

HONEY GG has been in fine order on the all-weather at Southwell this year and a 1lb rise for finishing second there only 10 days ago is unlikely to prevent her from mounting another bold bid. Peggy's Angel was narrowly beaten off 2lb lower over 6f at Doncaster last month and now drops in trip and debuts for a new stable, though the main danger may be the returning Mythical Spirit, a 5f winner at Doncaster last summer.

Milton Road drops in distance after rattling the crossbar over 7f at Musselburgh and is expected to go well, though SOMEONE EXCITING looks the one to be on. David Thompson's C&D winner kept on well at the finish when second over 5f at Newcastle recently and could relish the return to 6f. Spirit Of Zebedee is fairly treated on the pick of his recent form and can fight it out with Crosse Fire and Ginger Jam for the bronze medal.
