That run is likely to have brought him on after so much time off, so he is taken to strike. Ayr Gold Cup winner Baron Bolt has had a run this season and adds further lustre to the race.

VEGAS BOY found only the well-regarded Louie De Palma too strong at Ascot last time and a 2lb rise for that half a length defeat looks fair. Victory Angel was not far away at Newmarket and a 1lb drop in the ratings gives him a chance, while veteran Tropics has won here three times during his long career and showed there's plenty of life left in him when running consistently well on the all-weather earlier this year.

It's possibly too soon to be overly concerned with Bettys Hope's tendency to finish second, but she is reluctantly passed over in favour of newcomer DIVINE SPIRIT here. A half-sister to a trio of sprint winners, two of which won aged two, Godolphin had to go to 850,000 guineas to purchase the daughter of Kingman at the breeze-up sales and will be expecting some return on that investment. Bainne Dubh has been sent off at big prices on all three starts so far, but was far from disgraced in a decent contest at Salisbury latest.

A pair of Godolphin runners in Distant Image and Quiet Note appear the pick of the newcomers.
