MATEWAN ended his 2018 campaign with back-to-back victories and a 4lb rise for the most recent of those successes may not be enough to stop him from taking this contest on his return. Uther Pendragon should not be discounted following his recent win at Bath, although a 5lb penalty will make life tougher for him today. Others to note are Cogital, My Boy Sepoy and Sudona. Prediction : 1st Matewan 2nd Uther Pendragon 3rd Sudona

FULL AUTHORITY was an extremely impressive six-length winner on his debut at Chester a couple of weeks ago and that form has already been boosted with the fourth winning at Redcar on Monday. The son of Kingman displayed plenty of speed to make all on that occasion and he could do so once again today from stall one. Proper Beau also accounted for a subsequent winner on his debut at Musselburgh and he is likely to pose the biggest threat to the selection, ahead of Strive For Glory. Prediction : 1st Full Authority 2nd Proper Beau 3rd Strive For Glory

Magic Circle won this race 12 months ago but he was well held on his seasonal return at Chester and, while a good run can be expected, he may be vulnerable for win purposes this evening. With that in mind, preference is for DEE EX BEE, who was an impressive winner of the Sagaro Stakes at Ascot earlier in the month. That performance suggests last year's Derby second could be a leading player in all of the top staying contests this season. Making Miracles should not be underestimated following his recent Chester Cup win, while Mekong is another to consider. Prediction : 1st Dee Ex Bee 2nd Magic Circle 3rd Making Miracles

MATTERHORN has been a fantastic servant to connections, despite only beginning his career last October, winning seven of his 11 starts. An impressive winner of the Easter Classic at Lingfield on Good Friday, he ran a fantastic race on his second outing on grass when runner-up to Forest Ranger at Chester 13 days ago and could improve again on a sounder surface. Regal Reality shaped with plenty of encouragement when third on his return here in the bet365 Mile and could be the main danger if handling this step up in trip. Elwazir won over C&D last season and is expected to progress as a four-year-old.Prediction : 1st Matterhorn 2nd Regal Reality 3rd Elwazir

SANGARIUS showed a fair amount of promise as a juvenile with successes on debut at Newmarket, where he beat Derby candidate Bangkok, and in Listed company at Doncaster. The son of Kingman possibly found Group 1 company too competitive when fourth in the Dewhurst, but he has the scope for further improvement this campaign and bids to give Sir Michael Stoute his third success in this contest since 2011. King Of Comedy won nicely under a penalty on his return at Yarmouth and warrants the utmost respect, even though stepping up in class, while this drop in distance is unlikely to prove an issue for Walkinthesand, who has shown good form at this level on both starts at Newmarket this season.Prediction : 1st Sangarius 2nd King Of Comedy 3rd Walkinthesand

GREENSIDE built on his promising fourth in the Spring Cup when justifying favouritism at Windsor earlier this month and a 4lb rise in the handicap may not be enough to stop Henry Candy's gelding from landing a double. Lush Life was third behind the selection last time and could finish closer to him with that outing under her belt, while a gelding operation could feasibly see Kitaabaat take a step forward.Prediction : 1st Greenside 2nd Lush Life 3rd Kitaabaat
