DARK KRIS stepped forward from his initial outing to chase home Guildsman at Goodwood, form which was given a massive boost when the winner went really close in the Coventry at the Royal meeting. Richard Hughes' colt meets nothing of that calibre here and can see off Cherokee Mist, whose Lingfield performance was surely too bad to be true. Rich Belief did better on his second start than he did on his first, with Breck's Selection considered the pick of the newcomers.

Scottish Blade is interesting on his handicap bow but this can go to BEQUEST, who keeps performing with credit in defeat and wouldn't be winning out of turn.

That was his first attempt at the minimum distance and he thrived over it so he's taken to defy a 7lb rise. Cappananty Con had previously beaten all bar You're Cool at Chelmsford and there should be little between them again. Thegreatestshowman is a player if transferring his best turf form to this surface, while Just That Lord is capable of getting involved as well.

AVENUE FOCH failed to show his true colours in a Nottingham handicap on his first start for James Fanshawe, though his best performance as a juvenile came at this venue when third in a nursery off a mark of 72 so he can be given another chance. Moment Of Hope failed to confirm his debut promise when flopping at Newmarket, but the return to the all-weather may see him in a better light.

Allux Boy is rarely too far away, and Snooker Jim has also been shaping as though his turn is imminent.
