SIR RON PRIESTLEY failed to fire when well supported in the King George V Stakes at Royal Ascot last month, but he was ridden too aggressively on that occasion and it is far too soon to be writing him off. Prior to that run, the son of Australia had won a small-field handicap over 1m4f at this track so impressively that connections gave him an entry in the Group 2 Princess of Wales's Stakes at Newmarket next week. He appears to be a strong galloper when at his best, which suggests that he should relish this step up in trip. Mind The Crack is a stablemate of the selection and he won impressively on heavy ground here last month, but a 6lb rise in the ratings will make life tougher for him today and the ground is a slight concern. Arctic Fox has to be respected given that she arrives here on the back of a hat-trick of victories, while Summer Moon is the pick of the remainder.

This is not a vintage renewal but it is certainly competitive, with five of the six runners rated within 3lb of each other. That said, the one to beat is arguably ENBIHAAR, who was only beaten narrowly by Dramatic Queen in a Group 3 over 1m6f at York last time out. The winner that day only wore down Enbihaar in the final strides and this sharper test of speed can see John Gosdean's filly reverse that form. Klassique won the Pinnacle over C&D last month but that came on heavy ground and she was beaten by the selection at Goodwood in May. Nyaleti has the form to go well but she does have to prove herself over this trip.

Mark Johnston has won this race three times in the last six years and AQUARIUM could be an underestimated runner in this. The four-year-old caught the eye when meeting trouble in running in the Duke Of Edinburgh at Royal Ascot, which was just his second start over this trip, and he arrives here just 2lb higher than when winning at Chester in May. First Eleven won a very competitive handicap at York in May and he has to be respected off a 5lb higher mark this afternoon. Al Muffrih remans unexposed but this is a lot tougher than the race he won at Redcar last time out, while Koeman and Lucius Tiberius are others who could go well at decent prices.

KEEP BUSY opened her account in professional style when scoring at Carlisle 10 days ago and could make her nursery debut a winning one for John Quinn off a mark of 73. The two-year-old is bred to keep improving given that she is out of a Group 2-winning dam and she can claim a second successive win. Go Well Spicy conceded 4lb all-round at Doncaster last month to strike and has to be respected, while recent Thirsk winner Havana Dawn is another to be interested in.

Danzeno (third) just got the better of SUMMERGHAND (fifth) in the Wokingham at Royal Ascot a couple of weeks ago, but the latter is 3lb better off at the weights this time and could reverse that form. There is a suspicion that Danzeno reserves his best form for bigger fields and this likely tactical contest might not suit quite as well. Enjazaat has a bit to find with that pair but could still prove best of the remainder.

EQUIANO SPRINGS just doesn't know how to run badly and has finished first or second in each of his last six starts. A comfortable winner over this trip at Doncaster latest, a 6lb rise in the weights might not be enough to halt him because he won off this mark on the all-weather in February. Nick Vedder should be thereabouts at the business end but a bigger danger might be last-start Doncaster runner-up Gabrial The Devil.

Mutaraffa finished third in the Wood Ditton in April and has won twice since in good style, so it is easy to see why Charlie Hills' charge will prove popular in this handicap finale. BEAT LE BON is the highest-rated horse in the field, though, and will be out to put his superior experience to good use. Like Hills' inmate, he gets a handy weight-for-age allowance and he won a more competitive handicap than this at Goodwood in May. Kimifive rates best of the rest.
