MUTHMIR struggled in a Group 3 at Sandown last weekend but he had previously caught the eye when only beaten a length in the Dash at Epsom. The veteran arrives here 1lb lower in the ratings today and he should take plenty of beating. Tis Marvellous has a good record at this track and that includes his second-placed finish in the Wokingham last month and he should have no problem stepping back down to 5f today. Embour appears to have improved this year and he completes the shortlist for this contest, along with Moyassar and Growl.
Prediction : 1st Muthmir 2nd Tis Marvellous 3rd Embour

MANIGORDO put in an eye-catching display when finishing fourth on his debut at Newmarket a couple of weeks ago, when making a big mid-race move to join the leaders prior to tiring in the final furlong. With that run under his belt, Richard Hannon's colt could take plenty of beating this afternoon. Kingbrook is another who put in a promising display on debut and he could prove to be the main threat to the selection. Miss Villanelle is another with valid form claims, while Berkshire Rocco is the pick of the newcomers.
Prediction : 1st Manigordo 2nd Kingbrook 3rd Miss Villanelle

LOOLWAH bounced back from a narrow defeat two starts ago to win at Thirsk last time and that form has been boosted with the second winning since. An opening mark of 85 appears to be workable for this daughter of Pivotal and she may have more improvement to come. Fabulist has improved with every start to date and she is an obvious threat to the selection this afternoon. Be More is another who appears to be going in the right direction, while Modern Millie should appreciate the return to handicap company.
Prediction : 1st Loolwah 2nd Fabulist 3rd Be More

SHIP OF THE FEN can be forgiven a disappointing effort at Sandown, when forced to make his own running, and the son of Champs Elysees can bounce back in a contest that is likely to be run to suit. Ulster pulled up at the Royal meeting but is capable of returning to form at a lower level, while Shabeeb, a stable companion of the selection, is another who could benefit from his sights being lowered.
Prediction : 1st Ship Of The Fen 2nd Ulster 3rd Shabeeb

ZAAKI has taken his form to a new level in 2019 since being gelded, having won here on the straight track at the beginning of May before following up in a Group 3 at Epsom. He did well to win on the latter occasion, considering he appeared not to be in love with the undulating track, and appeals as having more to offer from a stable renowned at continually improving similar types. Last year's winner Beat The Bank arrives after a fine second in the Queen Anne, while Matterhorn, 10th on that occasion, won a Listed contest at Windsor in comfortable style a fortnight ago and is likely to give another bold bid from the front.
Prediction : 1st Zaaki 2nd Beat The Bank 3rd Matterhorn

FAYLAQ has impressed when stepped up to this distance the last twice, making a successful switch to the handicap ranks at Ripon before romping to a six-length triumph at Newmarket last time. The Dubawi colt, who cost 1,500,000 guineas, could still be ahead of the handicapper despite a whopping 14lb rise and could notch a hat-trick here. Goodwood winner Never Do Nothing is respected following a 6lb rise, while Mind The Crack was denied a three-timer by a useful stablemate last weekend, but the drop back to this trip could be a positive. Fellow Mark Johnston runner Persian Moon is also considered following his handy performances in some top contests this season.
Prediction : 1st Faylaq 2nd Mind The Crack 3rd Persian Moon

RUX RUXX has thrived over this distance the last twice and Tim Easterby's four-year-old would arguably been more impressive when scoring last time if not being slowly away and a little sluggish in the early stages. The 4lb rise gives the Dark Angel filly a fantastic chance of landing a hat-trick with the owner's retained rider taking over in the saddle. Firmdecisions is another in search of a treble following two useful victories over six furlongs, while Assembled joins the handicap ranks following victory in a Windsor novice event last month. Mr Tyrrell, second at that same track, is considered off just a 2lb higher mark, with Breanski and Algaffaal both travelling down from the north with possibilities.
Prediction : 1st Rux Ruxx 2nd Assembled 3rd Firmdecisions
