The Last Emperor improved a fair bit from his first to second start over timber and subsequent Flat performances have been encouraging, while Bachelor, Morning Skye and Tomeric add further spice to the race.

ARGENT ET OR has been well supported in each of his three starts to date, suggesting that he shows plenty at home, and although he has fallen some way short, the six-year-old won't be found many better opportunities than this to open his account. Equipped with a first-time hood, he gets the vote to see off Ashton Court, who had more behind than in front when seventh at Down Royal last time, and Downpatrick fourth Benefit Run.

AMOR VERDADERO certainly wasn't winning out of turn at Bellewstown and with that confidence-booster under her belt, she gets the vote to follow up on her debut in handicap company. Roney switches back to hurdles following a pleasing first effort over fences and she is expected to be in the mix, while Cork fourth Colour Me In also merits consideration representing Thomas and David Mullins.

OUR BRIAN impressed when a six-length winner at Downpatrick last time and could have a bit more up his sleeve following a 7lb rise. Room To Roam was a winner in maiden company at Bellewstown last week and has to be of interest returning to the handicap ranks, while course winner Mon Storm is respected, having not been disgraced in a decent contest at Down Royal on his latest start.

Canadian Steel saw his hat-trick bid end in disappointment last time but was not disgraced when fourth at Downpatrick that day and could be well treated switching to hurdles off a mark 20lb lower than his current chasing figure. However, preference is for CAILEAN'S ANGEL, who landed the spoils at Bellewstown last weekend and could thrive over this trip once again off a 5lb higher rating. Shantelle could be suited by a drop back in distance, with Lucky Road capable of better than he showed in a Tramore handicap latest.

City Limits ran another solid race when third at Roscommon five days ago and should be up there once more, while Trendsetter hasn't been disgraced at Cartmel the last twice and could be suited by the switch to this more conventional track. This does seem to be a nice opening for SKEAPING, who wasn't disgraced when fifth in a better contest at Perth 10 days ago. The six-year-old is unexposed over this trip and Davy Russell takes over in the saddle this time.

Those with prior experience under Rules don't set a daunting standard, and a chance can be taken on Gordon Elliott's LAST GOLDEN TICKET. The four-year-old is related to a few bumper winners and his dam won on the Flat in Germany, so he should have enough pace to cope with this test. Blaze A Trail wasn't disgraced when sixth on debut at Kilbeggan last month, while Sweettowatch is worth noting back from a 148-day break for a yard that claimed this prize in 2017.
