There are far less exposed runners than the 11-year-old in the line-up, though, not least GORTROE JOE, who has been freshened up since a facile C&D success. Casablanca Mix and Pacific De Baune give Nicky Henderson a good hand, with Trigger Nichol the pick of Richard Newland's pair. David Pipe is also double-handed, with El Terremoto of particular interest on his first start since leaving Nigel Twiston-Davies.

TALES OF THE TWEED is yet to deliver on the promise he showed as a novice hurdler in two outings since a long absence. However, a wind operation could see the son of Robin Des Champs take a big step forward on his second chase start. Blairs Cove didn't appear to see out 3m2f at Uttoxeter last time and could benefit from a pair of cheekpieces, while Francky Du Berlais and Heydour complete the shortlist.

LITTLE STEVIE has placed on his last couple of starts over fences and connections have secured the services of Richard Johnson which could see the seven-year-old take another step forward.
