CONFRERIE arrives having won two of his last three outings at Brighton and connections have found an excellent opportunity to continue his fine run of form. Rock In Society can take a step forward from his latest start with the return to 7f in his favour, while others to consider include Winklemann, who placed on fast ground at Salisbury in April, and Just An Idea.

Global Spirit got the better of Esprit De Corps (second) when meeting at Ayr earlier in the month and the latter upheld that effort, when filling the same spot at the same track nine days ago. The pair reoppose with the latter receiving 2lb, which could see David Barron's gelding reverse the form, but the three-year-old REAL SMOOTH gets the nod. Richard Hannon's filly has been running well in novice/maiden company on her last couple of starts and warrants plenty of respect now switching to handicaps.

IZVESTIA was beaten at odds on on her most recent outing at Windsor but she can bounce back to form with the drop back to a mile unlikely to pose any concern. Colonel Slade is better than he achieved on his handicap debut at Nottingham last week and, if running to his second at Bath six days prior, could serve it up the selection along with Max Guevara, who finished fourth at Epsom last Thursday.

Volcanic Sky was only beaten half a length into third at Carlisle and he is likely to be in the shake-up again, but preference is for the less-exposed QUICKSAND. Hughie Morrison's filly hasn't done a great deal wrong during her short racing career to date and, after not appearing to get home over 1m6f at Wetherby last time, this drop back in trip looks a smart move. Similar applies to Unit of Assessment, who disappointed over 1m6f latest but won nicely over 1m4f the time before, while Windsor runner-up C'Est No Mour adds further spice to the race.

Ricochet is likely to go close if running to his official rating of 72 but a chance is taken on the less-exposed SWISS CHILL, whose improvement from his first to second start last season suggests that he will make up into an even better four-year-old. It's also worth noting that he has been gelded since his latest outing. Zaula took a decent step forward at Brighton last time and she could prove best of the girls.

DEAR MIRIAM appreciated the drop in trip when getting off the mark over 1m1f at Lingfield a fortnight ago and a 4lb rise in the ratings may not be enough to stop her from taking this contest as well. Perfect Grace is another who was successful last time out but she faces a tougher task following an 8lb rise. Aubretia and Fragrant Belle are others who can be expected to go well.

In a moderate contest it is hard to oppose ALICIA DARCY, who arrives here on the back of two impressive victories and she is only 4lb higher than her most recent success, despite having to carry a 6lb penalty. Awa Bomba won well on the Fibresand at Southwell last time out and will be a player if transferring that form to the turf. Montalvan is another recent winner who merits consideration.
