CHANCE proved that his victory at Chepstow in May was not a fluke with an impressive success at Nottingham three weeks ago. A 10lb rise in the ratings will make life tougher for him today but the progressive three-year-old can still rack up the hat-trick. Moftris appears to be going in the right direction and he could prove to be the main threat to the selection, ahead of Brandy Spirit and Amadeus Grey.

OUR LITTLE PONY probably would have won with a bit more luck over this C&D 41 days ago and has to be taken very seriously in a similar contest under title-chasing rider Danny Tudhope. A 2lb rise for that latest second is fair and she can prove too strong for Dean Ivory's Spring Romance, who was a 25-1 winner at Nottingham last month. Orion's Bow claimed an overdue success at Hamilton recently and a 4lb penalty isn't too harsh.

It is hard to oppose the William Haggas-trained BOOSALA, who posted an impressive victory at Windsor on debut and may flourish further over this extra furlong. Phoenix Approach and Stroxx give Tim Easterby a strong hand, with the stable having taken this in 2017, while Richard Fahey saddles a pair of debutants to keep an eye on, Viceregent and Yoshimi.

FRANKELLINA sets the form standard on her neck second in the Musidora over track and trip on fast ground earlier in the season and has progressed again since, judging by her Oaks sixth and her creditable sixth behind subsequent Irish Oaks winner Star Catcher on ground softer than ideal in the Ribblesdale last time. Kirstenbosch is progressing sharply for James Fanshawe and has place claims, likewise Encapsulation, who steps back up from 1m and is having only her second run for Andrew Balding.

David O'Meara has an excellent record in this contest and his Baltic Baron warrants respect, having been gelded since a rare lacklustre performance at Newcastle. Local trainer Richard Fahey won the race last year and has two solid chances with International Man and Crownthorpe, while Irv must enter calculations following his breakthrough success over C&D. However, preference is for ALEXANDER JAMES, who has Silvestre De Sousa booked for his handicap debut and potentially looks a fair bit better than this opening mark of 89.

It is hard to oppose AMPLIFY, who arrives here on the back of victories at Salisbury and Windsor in recent months. A 3lb rise in the ratings for the most recent of those wins may underestimate this son of Acclamation and he has to be given the utmost respect. Little Legs is another recent winner to note following his success at Catterick last week, while Tenax is the pick of the remainder.
